About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist parents, teachers, and leaders in developing each child’s God-given gifts, talents, and abilities.

Charlotte Mason Method

We utilize the Charlotte Mason educational method which cultivates relationship with God, self, man, nature, and living ideas as the foundation for each student’s journey to lifelong learning.

Curriculum

A day of learning consists of short lessons, various subjects, habits and nature.

Our Purpose

Foundational scripture for Heritage Learning Center is Psalm 127:3 which reads, "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward." We believe and support that each child is a gift from God given to parens to nurture, train, and propel into God's divine purpose and destiny through the Lord Jesus Christ. Heritage Learning Center is an extension and a means of support to parents in cultivating each child's gifts. Each child's unique abilities will be encouraged and celebrated through an individualized instruction plan for each student. Everyone learns at a different pace so each child's goal will be set based on his or her course of study.

Heritage Learning Center's purpose is to provide Biblical education and resources. The center will provide many opportunities to meet educational needs while implementing the methods of Charlotte Mason.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Charlotte Mason (1842–1923) was a British educator who developed an educational philosophy and method known as the Charlotte Mason approach. Her approach emphasized the importance of treating children as whole persons, nurturing their minds, bodies, and spirits.

Key aspects of Charlotte Mason's philosophy included:

  1. Living Books: Mason advocated for the use of "living books" — high-quality literature that engages and inspires students — rather than dry textbooks.
  2. Narration: Instead of traditional testing methods, Mason encouraged students to narrate, or retell in their own words, what they had learned, fostering comprehension and communication skills.
  3. Nature Study: Mason believed in the value of spending time outdoors and observing nature firsthand as a means of learning about the world.
  4. Short Lessons: She recommended short, focused lessons to maintain students' attention and prevent mental fatigue.
  5. Art and Music: Mason emphasized the importance of exposing children to great works of art and music to cultivate their aesthetic sense and appreciation for beauty.
  6. Character Education: Alongside academic subjects, Mason placed a strong emphasis on character development, including the cultivation of good habits and moral virtues.

We offer curated curriculum options for each subject and grade level. Assignments will be accessible online through our communication portal. While we encourage following our curriculum for consistency, parents have the flexibility to choose alternative at-home resources if desired.
